Daremehr

The San Jose Dar-e-mehr located on Crothers Road, on the the way to Mt. Hamilton, commands a wonderful view of the valley below and serves the Northern California Zarathushti community from Redding to Monterey and San Francisco to Sacramento.

The land and existing buildings were purchased by the Rustom & Morvarid Guiv Trust in the late 1980’s.

The Atash-Kadeh was built with donations and funds raised from the local Zarathushti community, both Parsi and Persian, and was officially opened with a grand opening ceremony and Jashan on March 28th, 1992. Ten priests officiated and symbolically lit the fire. The opening ceremony, with prayers, music and food, was attended by over 800 members of the Zarathushti community.
