The San Jose Dar-e-Mehr, located on Mt. Hamilton, offers a beautiful view of the valley below and serves as a spiritual and cultural home for the Northern California Zarathushti community.
The land and existing buildings, were purchased by the Rustom & Morvarid Guiv Trust in the late 1980s. With heartfelt donations and dedicated fundraising by both Parsi and Persian Zarathushtis in the Bay Area, the Atash-Kadeh was built and inaugurated on March 28, 1992. A grand opening ceremony, attended by more than 800 community members, featured prayers, music, food, and a Jashan. Ten priests officiated and together symbolically lit the sacred fire, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the community.
